That’s a wrap on an incredible season at the Melrose Farmers’ Market! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the JohnnyBakes table this summer. From the customers who came back week after week to the friendships built, this season was more than I ever could have expected.
Now it’s time for this baker to take a much-needed vacation!
JohnnyBakes will return with fresh bread for local pickup in Wakefield in mid-October. Keep an eye on our social media for updates.

A cozy fall twist on our classic sourdough. Made with real pumpkin purée and subtle but warm notes of pumpkin pie spices, this loaf has a subtly sweet, earthy pumpkin flavor with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove. Each scone starts with a rich vanilla cream base and a sugar-topped finish that pairs perfectly with coffee, tea, or a slow weekend morning. Inspired by classic bakery-style scones with crisp edges and a moist interior.

About Me
It all started with a KitchenAid mixer I received for Christmas. What began as a fun experiment in the kitchen quickly became something I couldn’t get enough of.
With a lot of encouragement from my partner Mike—and plenty of willing taste-testers among friends and family—I started baking more often, trying new recipes, and refining each loaf. Before long, baking became more than just a hobby; it became something I truly looked forward to sharing.
JohnnyBakes is the result of that journey. Based in Wakefield, MA, it’s all about small-batch, handcrafted bread made with simple ingredients and a genuine love for the process.
